Four Favorites: February 2017

8:10:00 AM

I know, I know: this post is so late! February flew by, and then we are somehow already well into March and I haven't yet posted my Favorites! Needless to say, it's high time to talk about four amazing products from February.

Four Favorites: February 2017

1. Sonia Kashuk Soft Focus Satin Matte Foundation

This foundation claims to be formulated specifically for oily/combination skin, so of course I had to try it. It is so lightweight, but has medium (buildable) coverage, and it really stays matte for most of the day! I have worn it nearly every day this month, and I feel like my skin looks smooth and even all day long. I have to powder or blot much less when wearing this, which is always a bonus, and when I do touch up, it looks brand new again. A con of this product is its lack of options in terms of shades; it only has six shades to choose from. I use the lightest shade (01 Bisque), so anyone lighter than me may have a hard time. I hope they come out with more so that all oily-skinned girls can try it!

Target, $12.99

2. BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 The Bare Neutrals

I mentioned this product in my Space-Saving Makeup Packing post because I think it's the perfect palette for travel, but I have been using it nonstop this month, whether or not I am traveling! It's another example of a really great everyday neutrals palette, and the formula is spot-on. I think I especially love that even in such a small palette, it gives you the opportunity to do a truly full eye look - a matte cream shade for setting eyeshadow primer, several matte crease shades to choose from, different tones of shimmery lid shades, and darker shades to deepen the look. It is compact packaging and has a good mirror, too!

Ulta, $40.00

3. Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer

I'll be honest - I am not the best about remembering moisturizer, especially in the morning. Also, since I have oily skin, I am always worried that moisturizer will hurt rather than help the situation. This product from Clinique is perfect for me for all those reasons! It is meant to be a moisturizer-primer hybrid, so it becomes a part of your makeup routine. It does not feel oily at all, it goes on matte, and it makes foundation look flawless on top. It keeps my skin moisturized without promoting oil production, and it feels great on the skin.

Sephora, $29.50

4. Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipstick - "Naked Talent"

This lipstick has been a staple in my purse lately because it's a brighter take on my usual go-to nude colors. It manages to work in a little bit of coral without straying too far out of the neutral zone, which I love. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and it has a really nice satin finish which gives it a little sheen. It smells really good, too!

Ulta, $12.00
